Mechanical Kit - These mechanical drawing tools were Romy's but I'm not sure why he had them. He gave them to me when I took mechanical drawing as a junior at Marmion Military Academy in the Fall of 1947. It was tought by Captail Bednard. Seated directly behind me was my good friend Gene Muia and we are still close friends today. I still have the wooden T Square in my office and still use it

Jerry,

I recently discovered your wonderful website. My grandfather, William Kraus was very good friends with Romy. I have a picture of the two of them in their Knights of St. Gregory regalia.

My father, James "Jim" Kraus raised our family in Marycrest in Kankakee. We bought one of the first homes on Pine Street in 1954, then moved to a newer, larger home on Hammes Avenue around 1958. My uncle's family, the Wadleigh's, lived across the street on Hammes, in one of the homes with an attached bunk house.

We bought a number of cars from Hammes Ford, including a 1958 Fairlane 500 Convertible and a 1962 Galaxie 500 Sunliner, the latter in Corinthian White with a Ming Green interior.

Unfortunately, we moved out of state in 1967.

Thanks for the memories!

James M Kraus
